Jessica took her first swing class in college in 1998 during the big
jitterbug craze and eventually started dancing 4 nights a week at Jupiter
Moons in Colorado Springs. Somehow during that summer, she met her future
husband Mike, met up with him at a dance, and practiced a lot of fancy
moves that resulted in her falling on her head a few times.
In college in Chicago she looked for every opportunity she could find to
dance and took a few introductory lindy hop classes.
But it wasn't until she took Intro to Lindy Hop with Focus on the Lindy in
2002 that it really clicked for her. Ever since then, she has been building
on that foundation and seeking to improve her technique as a dancer. She
has taken workshops from Steven & Virginie and Paul & Sharon and danced at
exchanges in Denver and Portland.
In 2005 she married Mike and later joined Focus on the Lindy. She looks
forward to teaching others to enjoy the dance that she loves.
