Focus On The Lindy is a dance instruction troupe that teaches Charleston, Balboa, Shag, jazz line dances, Blues, and
our specialty, Lindy Hop. Lindy Hop (aka ?Jitterbug?) is the original Swing dance created in the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem,
New York during the 1930?s. Traditionally danced to the swinging jazz of the Big Bands, Lindy Hop is noted for its high
energy, fancy rhythmic footwork, and gymnastic aerials. Today, the dance form has evolved to encompass both high tempo and
slower groove music styles.
Our mission is to teach our students how to dance extemporaneously with their partners, creating their dance steps on the fly,
while grounding them in Lindy Hop?s traditional jazz movements. See our Class Schedule
